Summit Leadership Systems is Os Belande. He is an operator first and a coach second, and the order matters: most of what he brings to a coaching relationship was learned running businesses, not reading about them.
Where the experience comes from
Os spent eighteen years with a global express carrier, ending in senior leadership. That is where he learned how a large, disciplined operation holds together — and how fast it stops holding together when one part of it is quietly failing. Since 2007 he has built and run Logistics Service World, a Canadian flatbed transportation company, run from Ontario until 2021 and from Alberta since. In 2012 he acquired a delivery and logistics company in Ontario and grew it.
The mix is the point. He has worked inside a large organisation where the systems already exist, and inside a small one where you are the system. He can read a lane P&L, which most coaches cannot, and he knows what a maintenance schedule slipping by two weeks does to a quarter.
What he does now
Os coaches business owners and senior leaders through turning points — a growth plateau, a restructuring, a change of direction. The work runs on The Ascent Framework, which treats a business as four gears: Team, Direction, Operations and Finances. Every business has trouble in all four. At any given moment one of them is the real bottleneck, and the first job is finding out which one. Guessing is expensive.
He is an ICF PCC candidate, so the coaching itself is disciplined — asking the questions that get you to the answer rather than handing over somebody else’s. The diagnosis underneath it is his own, built from what he has run rather than adapted from a book.
